Set up DNS automatically

Connect Cloudflare or Vercel when they own DNS, review the exact records, and add them for sending, receiving, and tracking.

When a domain's nameservers point at Cloudflare or Vercel, Samva can add the DNS records required for email. Manual records remain available for every domain. If your registrar supports one-click setup, that path appears instead.

Connect

  1. Open Email → Domains and select the domain.
  2. Open the DNS tab.
  3. Connect Cloudflare or Vercel when the page offers it.

The page offers a connection only when nameservers already point at that provider. Cloudflare uses its consent screen. Enter the Cloudflare account that owns the zone before continuing. Vercel uses its integration flow. Choose a personal account or a team, then continue. Both return you to the same domain page.

If authorization is not available, expand Use an API token. Create a token with DNS read and write access and limit it to this zone when the provider allows that. Cloudflare token connections also need the account that owns the zone.

Review and add records

Choose Review DNS changes after connecting. Samva reads current DNS and builds a 15-minute plan. The review groups records as add, already present, or conflict.

  • Add means the record is missing and will be created.
  • Already present means the exact record exists and will not change.
  • Conflict blocks automatic changes. Samva never replaces a different existing record.

Approve the exact plan, then choose Add records. If DNS changed after the plan was built, apply stops and asks you to review again.

If only some records are added, review a fresh plan to finish. Records already added show as already present.

Records included

The plan comes from the current domain configuration. It can include:

  • DKIM, custom MAIL FROM MX, and SPF records for sending;
  • the inbound MX record when receiving is enabled; and
  • customer-side CNAME and domain-control validation records when custom tracking is configured.

Samva keeps checking public DNS after the records are added. Provider acceptance does not mean every resolver can see them immediately.

Disconnect

Disconnecting stops Samva from updating DNS. Existing records stay.

To remove records Samva added, select Remove the records Samva added. You review a deletion plan and confirm again. Only unchanged records from the original add can be removed. Records you added yourself stay.

Troubleshooting

Connect Cloudflare or Connect Vercel is missing

The domain's nameservers are not at Cloudflare or Vercel. Add the records shown on the DNS tab, or use registrar one-click setup when it appears.

Cloudflare cannot find the zone

Confirm you connected the Cloudflare account that contains the zone, with permission to read the zone and manage DNS.

Vercel cannot find the domain

Confirm the selected personal account or team owns the domain and manages its DNS. A domain using other nameservers must be updated at that DNS host instead.

Review reports a conflict

Compare the conflicting record with the required record. Fix it at the DNS provider, then review again. Automatic setup does not overwrite conflicts.

Verification is still pending

DNS can take several minutes or longer. Keep the exact records in place and check DNS from the domain page.

Automatic setup still cannot continue

Use the records on the domain page and follow Verify your sending domain.
