# Resend pricing, and a Resend alternative that brings replies back.

URL: https://samva.dev/compare/resend

Resend costs nothing for 3,000 emails a month (capped at 100 a day), $20 a month for 50,000 or $35 for 100,000 on Pro, and Scale starts at $90 a month for 100,000. Resend's free plan includes more email than Samva's 500 a month. Samva's case is a typed send API that brings customer replies back to your app as a signed webhook, threaded to the email they answer. Resend receives email too, with inboxes and threads on every plan. Campaigns are priced on sends from the same API, and extra email stops at a spend limit you set.

## Who should switch.

Switch if

- Customers reply to your email and you want each reply delivered to your app as a signed webhook, already threaded to the email it answers.
- You want campaigns priced on sends from the same API. Resend's marketing product is priced on contacts.

Resend plans, checked Sep 29, 2026: Free 3,000 emails a month, Pro $20 for 50,000 or $35 for 100,000, Scale $90 for 100,000 up to $350 for 500,000. The table prices outbound email only; Resend's marketing email is priced separately, on contacts. Resend overage is opt-in. It is a team setting called Transactional Overages, billed in 1,000-email buckets at your plan's rate, from $0.90 per 1,000. Without it you get a notice and an offer to upgrade. Samva bills extra emails on paid plans at $0.50 per 1,000, up to a spend limit you set.

## Moving from Resend.

Add your domain and publish the DKIM and SPF records Samva generates next to the old provider's. Both can send while you switch.

Swap the send call.

## Resend Node SDK

```ts
import { Resend } from "resend";
const resend = new Resend(process.env.RESEND_API_KEY);
const { data, error } = await resend.emails.send({
  from: "Acme <onboarding@resend.dev>",
  to: ["ada@example.com"],
  subject: "Your receipt",
  html: "<p>Thanks for your order.</p>",
});
```

## Samva

```ts
await samva.messages.send({
  from: { email: "orders@example.com" },
  to: [{ email: "ada@example.com" }],
  channel: "email",
  email: {
    subject: "Your receipt",
    html: "<p>Thanks for your order.</p>",
  },
});
```

Map webhooks. Samva sends signed events for sent, delivered, bounced, complained, failed, and received, with received going to the endpoint your domain's receiving route names. Opens and clicks arrive as message.opened and message.clicked, and unsubscribes as contact.unsubscribed.

| Resend event | Samva event |
| --- | --- |
| `email.sent` | `message.sent` |
| `email.delivered` | `message.delivered` |
| `email.bounced` | `message.bounced` |
| `email.complained` | `message.complained` |
| `email.failed` | `message.failed` |
| `email.received` | `message.received` |
| `email.opened` | `message.opened` |
| `email.clicked` | `message.clicked` |

Recreate templates as versioned templates, or send your existing HTML inline while you move.

Keep the old provider's suppression list in your app and filter against it. Samva cannot import it.

Turn on receiving if you want replies back.

What does not move: templates, the suppression list, and message history.

## Notes

Template workflows overlap. Both products store templates, render them at send time, and separate drafts from published versions. Resend can import HTML or React Email and provides version history and test sends. Samva adds rollback to its publish history.

## Questions before you switch.

### How much does Resend cost?

Resend's pricing page, checked Sep 29, 2026, lists a free plan with 3,000 emails a month and a 100-a-day cap, Pro at $20 a month for 50,000 emails or $35 for 100,000, and Scale from $90 a month for 100,000 emails up to $350 for 500,000. Pro overage is $0.90 per 1,000 emails. Marketing email is priced separately, on contacts.

### Is Resend cheaper than Samva?

It depends on the volume. The cost table above prices Samva and Resend at 10,000, 50,000, 100,000, and 500,000 emails a month from each provider's published plans, so you can read your own volume off it. The tables compare outbound email only. Both receive email: Resend's pricing page lists inbound email and Threads on every plan, and Samva threads each reply into the conversation it answers.

### Are the free plans the same?

No. Resend's free plan includes more email: 3,000 a month with a 100-a-day cap, checked Sep 29, 2026. Samva's free plan is 500 emails a month, up to 100 a day, with no end date and no card required.

### What happens when I send past my plan?

On Resend, overage is opt-in. You turn on Transactional Overages in team settings, and extra emails are billed in 1,000-email buckets at your plan's rate. Without it you get a notice and an offer to upgrade. On Samva's paid plans, extra emails cost $0.50 per 1,000 up to a spend limit you set.

### Does Resend receive email too?

Yes. Resend's docs say it parses email sent to your receiving domain and posts it to an endpoint you choose, and its pricing page, checked Oct 27, 2026, lists inbound email, Threads, agent access, and 3 Inboxes on every plan, with extra Inboxes at $1 each. Samva delivers the same way, as a signed message.received webhook, and threads each reply into the conversation of the email it answers.

### Is Resend's marketing product priced like Samva campaigns?

No. Resend prices marketing on contact count, from a free 1,000-contact plan up to $650 a month at 150,000 contacts, checked Sep 29, 2026. Samva campaigns are priced on emails sent, and each plan includes a contact allowance.
